Ezekiel 8:12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.
I am reminded this morning that the Lord sees into chambers of my imagery. There is no secret with him. These ancients – leaders, and men of influence, thought that they could get away with allowing their minds to be filled with corrupt imaginations. They thought the Lord did not see, or at least, did not regard. Might we keep clean minds and pure imaginations before the Lord.
Ezekiel 7:19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord : they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
Second thought – the things we leave God for, we end up losing. Watching young people for ten years now, I see it clearly. Leave God for a relationship, lose the relationship, or keep the relationship and fight deep consequences. Leave God for material things and they will be taken away, or possibly worse, they may be kept and yet come to vanity and emptiness with them.
